Melbourne Football Club 2010

The Melbourne Football Club was established in 1858 as the oldest club of any code in the world. They entered the league in 1897 and play their home matches at The Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) with club colours red and navy blue.

Winning 12 premierships overall, they were a power side from 1954 to 1961 when they played in 7 consecutive Grand Finals winning five along the way. The Demons have languished in the bottom half of the league ladder in recent years, but with Dean Bailey as coach, they have begun rebuilding with a group of exciting young players who look set to take them to some success in the future.

Melbourne had another poor year winning just the 4 games, and because of that fact, they were entitled to a couple of priority draft picks to secure the best two youngsters in the draft. The Demons will continue to rebuild via youth and may improve next year with some promising young players in the team.
