Port Adelaide Football Club 2012

The Port Adelaide Football Club was established in 1870 in the South Australian National Football League and they took their place in the Australian Football League in 1997. Based in Adelaide they play their home games at AAMI Stadium and club colours are teal blue, black and white.

Known as 'Port' or the 'Power’, in their short time in the AFL they have competed in finals on a regular basis, winning two pre-season premierships in 2001 and 2002. Port finished minor premiers in three consecutive years (2002-2004) and won the club’s first AFL Premiership in 2004.

The Port Adelaide fans don't fill AAMI Stadium like across town rivals the Crows, but they are passionate and one-eyed in their support of their beloved Port Adelaide.

After being a most competitive outfit in recent times under Mark Williams, Port Adelaide were deplorable for most of season 2011 under new coach Matthew Primus, although he intorduced youngsters Ben Jacobs, Cam O'Shea and Matt Broadbent during the season.

The resigning of Jackson Trengove, Alipate Carlile and Andrew Moore will give Port some hope moving forward but they are a long way off the mark at the moment and won only three games for the season.

Port Adelaide 2011 Best and Fairest winner: Travis Boak and Jackson Trengove

Travis Boak enjoyed a solid season and gathered 458 disposals, 12 goals, and almost 5 tackles a game. Jackson Trengrove was a wonderful contributor and managed 335 possessions in a poor side and showed why Port were so keen to keep him from going home.
