St Kilda Football Club 2010

The St Kilda Football Club was a foundation club of the VFL in 1897 who are located in Melbourne and steeped in tradition. Nicknamed the 'Saints’ they play their home matches at Etihad Stadium (formerly Telstra Dome) and club colours are red, white and black.

St Kilda has won only the one premiership in their proud history which was in 1966 when they defeated Collingwood by 1 point in one of the great grand finals. They hold the record of 27 for the most wooden spoons (coming last on the league ladder).

In recent years the Saints they have played plenty of finals but had not managed to make it past a Preliminary Final until their brilliant 2009 year.

St Kilda had one of the best home and away seasons in history in season 2009 and won 19 games straight along the way to dropping only two games for the year. They reached the Grand Final on the last day in September and ended up losing to Geelong in a most memorable match.
