Sydney Swans Football Club 2010

The Sydney Swans Football Club (formerly South Melbourne) were a foundation club in the AFL way back in 1897. Initially known as South Melbourne, financial pressures seen the club move to Sydney in 1982 where they took on the name of the 'Sydney Swans'.

Wearing club colours of red and white they play their home games at the Sydney Cricket Ground or SCG, and also at ANZ Stadium in Sydney. The Swans have won 4 premierships in their history, with 2005 being the latest, and recently they have appeared in finals quite regularly.

In 2009, Sydney slipped outside the final eight for the first time in many seasons and they managed to win only 8 games overall, which adds up to a disappointing result for the Swans. With retirements to multiple stars in the off season and the inclusion of new players from the draft, we will see a different looking Sydney take the field in the new season.
