The Patinack Farm Classic is the major weight-for-age race for sprinters during the Flemington four day spring racing carnival. The race is run down the Flemington 1200 metres straight track each year on Emirates Stakes day in November during the Melbourne spring racing carnival.
The race was ran as the 'Age Classic' from 2005 to 2007 and has been known as the 'Patinack Farm Classic' since 2008. For recent Patinack Farm Classic winners and placegetters please visit our Patinack Farm Classic results page.
The Patinack Farm Classic changed from a 'handicap' to a 'weight-for-age' event in 2007, and moved to the last day of the carnival which is Emirates Stakes day to coincide with the Global Sprint Challenge.
The race now has an increased status and has been designed to attract the best sprinters available during the carnival. The Classic is now worth $1,000,000 in prizemoney and was taken out in fine style by Black Caviar in 2011
