The Bendigo Cup is a country cup event that was always held each November at Bendigo racecourse until 2009 when the race date was moved forward to late October to be a more important part of the Melbourne spring racing carnival and is run on the Wednesday before the Melbourne Cup.

Bendigo racecourse is located about 150 kilometres north-west of Melbourne and the Cup is an open handicap race run over a distance of 2200 metres. The Bendigo Cup is one of 2 country cups to be held in the Western District region, with the other being the Ballarat Cup which takes place in mid November in nearby Ballarat.
