When you visit Betfair for the first time it may appear a little daunting at first glance with all the available markets splashed across the screen, but once you become familiar with the user interface it is relatively easy to find your way around and select a market to place a bet.

Betfair preferences allow you to set your login page page to Home, Sports, The Tote, Multiples or Forum so that after you login it will open to your preferred page which is very convenient.

After you login to Betfair at the top right of the page you will encounter a screen something like the one above if your preference is set to open at 'Sports'.

BETFAIR RACING
For quick racing markets simply click on any of the upcoming races in the middle of the page under HORSE RACING'. If you want more detailed race fields, markets and stats for races ahead then just click 'Horse Racing' in the top left menu or click on the 'Racing Zone' banner above to take advantage of Betfair's wonderful racing tool for punters. Once you find a race where you want to place a bet, simply click the race name to display the race details and current odds. From here you can place a bet at the back or lay odds available to you.

BETFAIR SPORTS
All available upcoming sporting markets will be located in the middle of the main screen and if you want to check out the prices for any event just click 'Match Odds' to be taken to the market for that event. If you want find a market for a particular sport then select your desired sport from the left menu and it will open up the menu to all available markets for that sport. Select an event and bet type that interests you and the latest odds will display. Now you are able to place a bet at whatever odds you decide to back or lay.

RESULTS, DEPOSITS & WITHDRAWALS
Betfair offer an excellent results service for both racing and sports. Racing Zone provides detailed results back to 2007 and they supply Betfair and TAB odds plus other relevant information for punters. Sport results can be found by searching required sport from the 'Search Results' on the bottom left menu.

Deposits and Withdrawals can be made quite quickly by clicking the 'Deposit' button which is located to the top right of the screen beside your user name. Once clicked, it opens up to a multiple item menu where you can select the deposit or withdrawal option, or anything else that you may wish to do at the time.
