The Caulfield Guineas is raced at set weights for three-year-olds and has been won over the years by some of the greats of the turf, including Manikato, Mahogany and Lonhro. Taking place one week before the prestigous Caulfield Cup, the Guineas is a time honoured race over the spring and our Caulfield Guineas results page has winners and placegetters dating back to 1990.
The Caulfield Guineas is the major race three-year-olds during the Caulfield three day carnival and takes place on the first Saturday of the carnival. The Guineas has a long history dating all the way back to 1881 and is one of the major events for three-year-olds on the racing calendar each year over one mile and is valued at $1,000,000 in prizemoney. Over the years the Guineas has been recognised as a good horse's race for three-year-old gallopers andHelmet beat a quality field in 2011.
