The
Caulfield Guineas is a Group One three-year-old classic event run over 1600 metres and is the highlight of the first day of the week long Caulfield Spring racing carnival which is held each October. The Caulfield Guineas is raced at set weights for three-year-olds and has been won over the years by some of the greats of the turf, including Manikato, Mahogany and Lonhro.

The Caulfield Guineas is the major race of the Caulfield three day carnival for three-year-olds it has a long history dating all the way back to 1881. It is one of the biggest events on the racing calendar each year for 3yo's over one mile and is valued at $1,000,000 in prizemoney. It is recognised as a good horse's race and classy galloper Whobegotyou was successful in 2008.
