The
Emirates Stakes
is the most prominent mile event of the racing season in Victoria and is held during the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival each year in November. The Emirates Stakes is a Group One handicap event run over a distance of 1600 metres at the spacious Flemington racecourse in Melbourne.

The Emirates Stakes is held on the fourth and final day of the Flemington four day racing carnival and it is always run on final Saturday one week after the Victoria Derby, four days after the Melbourne Cup and two days after the Crown Oaks. The day itself is known as Family day and has festivities to suit everybody.
