The Myer Classic is a Group 1 event for Fillies and Mares that takes place during the Melbourne spring racing carnival. The race is a weight-for-age event run over a distance of 1600 metres at Flemington racecourse and is one of only two Group 1 events for fillies and mares held in Australia each year.

The Myer Classic is held on the same day as the Victoria Derby which is the first day of the four day Flemington spring racing carnival, which is the three days away from the the Melbourne Cup.
The Derby day programme is chock full of Group races and there are three more Group 1 races held along side the Myer Classic and they are the Mackinnon Stakes, Victoria Derby, and Coolmore Stud Stakes. The race is worth $500,000 and was won in 2011 by classy mare Hurtle Myrtle.
