Metropolitan racing in NSW is held in Sydney and it is home to four city racecourses. Randwick is their premier course with their major canrival being in March with the running of the AJC Derby 2400m and Sydney Cup 3200m. Rosehill hosts a number of feature races which include the 2yo big money event the Golden Slipper over 1200m and the time honoured BMW which is WFA over 2400m. Warwick Farm has limited group races and their major race is the Chipping Norton Stakes, whilst Canterbury is predominatly used for night racing.

Sydney's premier track which is very spacious and gives all horses a chance. It has an uphill run to the winning post which sorts out the contenders from the pretenders. It is home to one of Australia's toughest 1600m events the Doncaster Hcp. |
ROSEHILL RACE TRACK

Constant sweeping turns with a long straight that gives every chance to horses either in front or behind. It is somewhat of a specialist track and home to the 2yo dash for cash the Golden Slipper. |
WARWICK FARM RACE TRACK

Tight track with 1200/1400 starts providing a long straight run to allow horses time to settle. This course favours front runners due to it's tightness, and those coming from behind are often forced to go wide due to the sharp turns. The Chipping Norton Stakes is the major race held here annually. |
CANTERBURY RACE TRACK

Smallish, tight track that definitely favours front runners or horses racing on the pace. The course is mainly used for Sydney night racing and is home to the Queen of the Turf Stakes. |
