Brisbane Metropolitan Race Tracks | QLD Race Tracks

Metropolitan racing in Queensland is held in Brisbane and is home to two city racecourses which are almost accross the road from each other. Doomben is a smallish tight track and home to the Doomben 10,000 in May. Eagle Farm is a large, roomy track which hosts most of the major group races in Queensland including the Queensland Derby and Stradbroke Hcp.

The Brisbane Racing Club administers racing at both Doomben and Eagle Farm.

Doomben Racecourse

Doomben is a tight, turning track that advantages front runners and on pace runners. Inside barrier draws are a must as it is a difficult ask to win if forced wide during the race. It is home to the Doomben 10,000.

Eagle Farm Racecourse

Eagle Farm is a good all weather track with sweeping turns and a long straight which gives every type of horse a fair, equal chance to win. The race is home to the Stradbroke Cup.
