The Stutt Stakes is a Group 2 race for three-year-olds run over a distance of 1600 metres and takes place on a Friday night at Moonee Valley during the Melbourne spring racing carnival. The race is a yearly event raced under set weights conditions for three year olds. The race takes place on the same card as the Group 1 Manikato Stakes and gives many three-year-olds the opportunity to race over one mile for the first time.
The Stutt Stakes is held at Moonee Valley racecourse and gives three-year-olds a chance to race over 1600 metres against their own age and the better performers in this race may go on to the Caulfield Guineas in a couple of weeks time.
