Metropolitan racing in Western Australia is held in Perth and is home to two city racecourses which are located east of the city centre. Ascot is Perth's summer racing track and it is here you will find most of WA's major group races being run, with their main event being the Railway Classic held in December. Belmont Park is Perth's winter racing track and it holds a limited number of quality races, with the best being the Goodwin Sprint.
